Area is multiplied by each finished layer depth.

Base volume is divided by 1 − compaction loss.

Order quantities

Overage is added and each material rounds up independently.

Bedding sand receives overage but no separate compaction multiplier. Base and sand remain separate purchase quantities. Their approximate weights use adjusted volume before the displayed purchase volume is rounded up to the supplier increment.
