RightQty uses deterministic formulas: the same valid inputs produce the same result, without AI-generated quantities or a hidden supplier database.
Normalize, calculate, then display
Lengths are normalized to meters, areas to square meters, volumes to cubic meters, and mass to kilograms. Formula math remains unrounded until a display value or purchase unit is produced.
Purchase rounding
Indivisible items and bags round upward to whole units. Current bulk-material orders round upward to 0.1 cubic yard or cubic meter. This avoids recommending less than the calculated requirement.
Waste and compaction
Waste is applied as quantity × (1 + waste ÷ 100). Where compaction applies, required loose volume is finished volume ÷ (1 − volume loss) before waste is added.
Densities and variation
Weight estimates multiply volume by a documented planning density. Moisture, grading, source, void space, and compaction change real material weight, so supplier data should replace defaults when available.
