Transparent math
Measure a rectangle or circular bed in consistent units.
area × decorative rock depth gives the base volume.
Overage sets order volume; profile density estimates delivery weight.
Worked example
At 3 in deep, the bed needs 50 cubic feet before overage. Adding 10% gives 55 cubic feet, or 2.04 cubic yards, rounded to 2.1 cubic yards.
The volume stays the same across profiles, but estimated weight changes sharply: porous lava rock is much lighter than crushed granite or marble chips.
